Glowstone is a block in Minecraft. It is found naturally only in the Nether. When mined, Glowstone Blocks give 2-4 Glowstone Dust. This can be used to craft glowstone blocks itself or make potions more potent.
On the default Minecraft look, Glowstone Blocks are light brown block with lighter gold-brown spots. It is found hanging from the ceiling of Nether caverns, making it a bit dangerous to mine. However, with a bit of exploration, it shouldn't be too hard to find some close to the ground in a small cavern.
How to obtain
- Craft with four Glowstone Dust
- Trade with Villagers
- Mine with a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch
- Sometimes, if a Glowstone block is destroyed by an explosion, its light will remain.
- Glowstone gives off more light than any block except Lava.
