News and Announcements
Hey everyone!
If you didn't know, I started a new wiki twitter. I believe as a result of this, we had a new user.
Now, this is guys come in.
Do you know any pages which have great quality? I need to know some good pages so that I can link them in my tweets.
(Also, go follow the twitter: @mcpc_wiki)
Thanks. :)
Just Updated
Hello guys, PvP here, and the results of our Admin election have concluded. HerobrineAC0318 won 4-3, but he recently pulled out of the elections (Check here to see more). So, 707Mithrandir wins by default. Congratulations to both candidates. You can find the full results here.
Hey Wikians, PvPMaster2001 here, your new owner, and there are a bunch of announcements I need to make. First off, we're having an Admin election to elect a second Admin. Your options are 707Mithrandir and HerobrineAC0318. I have a poll set up for you guys. The voting ends a week from today, at 2:00 CST.

Next is the Format Policy. A crafting template needs to be created, and pages should basically follow the same format as the MCPE Wiki, except I don't think Obtaining sections need to be on pages where they can only be obtained by Crafting, and Usage sections don't need to be on pages where they basically have no particular use.
Now to get to the staff colors. They are here. Fonts are custom.

Now, about categories. We are currently in the process of adding Renewable/Non-Renewable categories to every page that they are applicable too. Now, because there are about 400 pages they need to be added to, it's been taking a while, so help would be appreciated. We also are in the process of adding categories to each page about the update they were added in, help would be appreciated on that.
Speaking of updates, we need update pages. There are a few update pages, but they're quite trashy. So that needs to be done at some point over the next few weeks. I think first we'll add pages for all the major updates, and then the minor ones. For beta update pages, just make the title "Beta 1.x". Same with alpha updates, just the title is "Alpha 1.x".
The Wiki also now has a Discord! Just click this invite to get access to it.
Also, I've been wondering recently whether we should affiliate with the Minecraft Playstation Wiki, the URL is minecraftplaystation.wikia.com. Please leave your opinions in this thread about the possible affiliation.
I think that's all, if you guys have any other problems you have in mind, please leave a message in this thread. So, good-bye for now.
Hello there Wikians, and sorry for creating a second highlighted post, but this is something important also. We are now holding a vote on whether or not we should enable Discussions to replace the Forums. This is an important decision that impacts the entire community, and once Discussions is enabled, it CANNOT be reversed. All Wikis will get Discussions eventually. This vote will end next Sunday, May 28, at 4:00 PM CST.
Hello Wikians, I have been recently thinking about implementing a format policy and some set staff colors. However, I would like to hear from you guys, before doing anything, in order to get some more input. Leave some Format Policy and staff username color suggestions below for me, then on next Sunday I will review all of the suggestions.
Hunting rifles and deer!? :D
(Should this thread be here? If not plz move.)
It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the deaths of two of our most active contributors, MC Photos and Spleef Master. Both were good, loyal friends, dedicated editors, and they will be missed.
To the best of our knowledge, Spleef committed suicide after the death of his girlfriend in a car crash - some of you may have seen this in the last Community News he did. MC was shot, but we are unsure of the circumstances.
In light of this, some of our users will not be their normal selves. Please accept this, and don't try prying for more details.
Our commiserations to the friends and family of both people, where ever they may be.
Guys we are so close to finishing up the 1.8 pages! Just a few more. Please help me finish this up. Also, we are missing TNT Minecart page, Chest minecart page, and a hopper minecart page, if I'm not mistaken.
Granite Page

Sponge Updated Page

Recently, Spleef Master came to me, asking for chat mod rights. I voted yes, but decided to let the community decide.
Answer below with your opinion, please.
You may know this by now, but I decided to highlight it because it's huge news.
Microsoft has bought Mojang.
A blog post by Mojang staff member Owen:
Yes, the deal is real. Mojang is being bought by Microsoft.
It was reassuring to see how many of your opinions mirrored those of the Mojangstas when we heard the news. Change is scary, and this is a big change for all of us. It’s going to be good though. Everything is going to be OK. <3
Please remember that the future of Minecraft and you – the community – are extremely important to everyone involved. If you take one thing away from this post, let it be that.
We can only share so much information right now, but we’ve decided that being as honest as possible is the best approach. We’re still working a lot of this stuff out. Mega-deals are serious business.
Why did you sell Minecraft? Minecraft has grown from a simple game to a project of monumental significance. Though we’re massively proud of what Minecraft has become, it was never Notch’s intention for it to get this big.
As you might already know, Notch is the creator of Minecraft and the majority shareholder at Mojang. He’s decided that he doesn’t want the responsibility of owning a company of such global significance. Over the past few years he’s made attempts to work on smaller projects, but the pressure of owning Minecraft became too much for him to handle. The only option was to sell Mojang. He’ll continue to do cool stuff though. Don’t worry about that.
There are only a handful of potential buyers with the resources to grow Minecraft on a scale that it deserves. We’ve worked closely with Microsoft since 2012, and have been impressed by their continued dedication to our game and its development. We’re confident that Minecraft will continue to grow in an awesome way.
Minecraft means many different things to millions of people across the world, and to each and every Mojangsta. We feel that this is the best way for everyone – you guys included – to benefit.
What about the other editions of Minecraft? Will they stop being developed? There’s no reason for the development, sales, and support of the PC/Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Vita, iOS, and Android versions of Minecraft to stop. Of course, Microsoft can’t make decisions for other companies or predict the choices that they might make in the future.
We’re extremely proud of all editions and the awesome things you have achieved through playing together.
Is the game going to change? Will we still be able to make videos, mods, awesome builds, and all the cool stuff we’ve created over the past few years? Minecraft will continue to evolve, just like it has since the start of development. We don’t know specific plans for Minecraft’s future yet, but we do know that everyone involved wants the community to grow and become even more amazing than it’s ever been. Stopping players making cool stuff is not in anyone’s interests.
What about the Mojang staff? What’s happening to you guys? Though it’s too early to confirm which of us will continue working on Minecraft or other projects, we predict that the vast majority (if not all) Mojangstas will continue to work at Mojang for the time being.
The founders: Notch, Carl, and Jakob are leaving. We don’t know what they’re planning. It won’t be Minecraft-related but it will probably be cool.
What’s happening to the other Mojang projects, like Scrolls? We don’t know yet. We’ll share any news as soon as we do.
Will you still be able to tweet about features and interact with the community on a personal level, just like you’ve done over the years? Yes! That’s not going to change.
How much money was the company bought for? Microsoft acquired Mojang for a smooth 2.5 BILLION dollars.
Thanks for reading everybody.
Wow. That's some big news, right there. Thoughs?
As we all know, 1.8 brought a ton of content in Minecraft. Some good, some bad. Nonetheless, we have nearly half of its content in writing here on the wiki, and that needs to be "almost all" instead. Gray and I have started already, and I made a blog post, but I felt the need to make sure the word spread. The list is as follows:
Granite Page
Smooth Versions of all 3 new stones as well
Banners
Coarse Dirt
Sponge Updated Page
Door and Fence Update
spectator gamemode
new commands(maybe?)
Realms page possibly, along with its updates
new anvil re balancing
Tutorial page for using banners(maybe?)
Post in this thread what you have done or if I'm wrong about something, or if I left something out. Also post here with anything you specifically want to write up.
First off, sorry for spamming everyone's messages again, but this is a separate thing. I will be getting a 2GB server in September, and although I will not stop other players from using it, I would like to dedicate it to the wiki. It will be up pretty much constantly, ensuring that you will always be able to play on it.
It already has a site, red-matter.enjin.com. I will NOT force anyone to sign up there, but some of the features I will mention in later will not be available to those who do not.
Server OP's will be me, Gray, Jeff, and possibly AgentSpy, if he is interested. Mods can be pretty much anyone else, if you are interested.
Recently, a new feature has popped up on the wiki; mob guilds. If you belong to a specific guild, you will be allowed to spawn that mob on the server using /spawnmob.
Hope you are interested,
With regard to Spy's sad departure, we no longer have a wiki server. Interested in getting a new one? Please look at this: http://minecraft-computer.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Rinzler135/New_Wiki_Server
I'm leaving the wiki. Want reasons?
- There are so many other minecraft wikis, why need a computer one? It's basically the same as every other minecraft wiki. "Wait, we have mod pages!" Most complicated mods have their own wiki, so no real need for that.
- Unprofessional articles. Yes, you have 500 articles, but are they good quality? Saturation (Effect) doesn't look to have high quality.
- Giving users colored names. Why give users colored names even if they aren't an admin, rollback, or chat moderator?
- Your community. This community can be immature at times and is just unorganized.
There. Not enough reasons? Oh, and could someone demote AgentBot? Thanks. You might want to remove me from Minecraft Computer:Becoming an Admin too.
Our wiki has kind of been falling into disrepair lately. We sorely miss several of our users that have gone inactive.
In light of this, I have decided to request a wiki spotlight for this wiki. It will be our third.
All of our jobs is to keep it in a proper condition to make sure we present our best material, and that none of the new community members make too many mistakes. For that, I require the services of our admins and chat mods, as well as all our other users.
So don your suits and dresses, ladies and gentlemen! It's time for our third spotlight!
I will request the spotlight in three days' time unless there is too much dissent posted on this thread.
Thanks!
Has anyone seen the new EULA? This could possibly be the end of Multiplayer Minecraft as we know it!

Hello everybody! It's time we had a Wiki-Wide party. Gray and I were talking this over and we decided that Hypixel would work for this. I'm thinking we do an adventure map and maybe some minigames too? Now, there are some things I want the community to decide upon. They are as follows:
1)Should we use Skype and/or Team-speak? If so which one?
2)What Adventure Map(s) should we play?
3)What time(s) are you available during the week and weekend.'
4)Should we do any minigames? If so, which ones?
This will most likely occur AFTER school is over for most people, so no need to worry about school getting in the way. Also, if you have VIP/VIP+/MVP/MVP+ on Hypixel be sure to tell me! Last of all, if you would not like to or can't come to this "Party" then you can either just post that you would not like to attend/can't attend or just not post anything at all. You're choice. Now get to it!
I need a response by June 20th, 2014.
